Hi guys,
Just in the early stages of building my Bristell and wondering what the thoughts are regarding fitting a water thermostat and how effective they are at helping the enginewarm up more quickly?
Thanks Trevor

Hi Trevor, Apologies for not responding earlier I didn't know anyone was using this forum. My thoughts... I fitted just an oil thermostat only and not the water thermostat due to the added weight of the water stat which semed a big chunk of a thing to me. However the coolant radiator on the Bristell is very large, I guess to cope with Mid West USA temperatures, so do I find that I need to have strip of foil over the bottom of the radiator all the year round, not for warm up, but to get the coolant level up around the 100c mark in flight.I increase this in the winter and also put a small srip on the oil cooler, again not for warm up but to maintain emgine temperature within paramters in flight. Generally though for warm up it only takes a couple of minutes and I am ususally fiddling with sorting Screens and flight routes out so no big deal.
Hope this helps your thinking,
Regards,
Alan.
